• specifications are subject to changePowerful for Its Size, Accurate as All Get Out! The Fadal FL-6.A 6” 3 jaw chuck starts out the hit parade. With better than a 1.75-inch bar feeder capacity (through the spindle), the FL-6 will turn 6.60-inch max turning diameter with a max swing over the saddle of 13 inches. The hits just keep coming with a 9.8 inch turning length — you can imagine how many parts there are out there that would fit that working envelope. The turret is servo-driven with a 12-position tool holder. The way construction is a roller type, made for years of accurate movement with minimal maintenance. Max spindle speed is 6,000 r.p.m with the spindle sporting 10 horse power with plenty of torque, and the spindle nose is the A2-5 mount.How Much More Can You Equip a Machine, and Still Keep It Affordable?  The Fadal Engineering group considered this question when their lathes were updated recently. Their combined feelings went something like this: we want to build as accurate and long-lasting a CNC lathe as we conceivably can, but still keep it as affordable as possible. To that end this excellent medium-duty CNC lathe, the Fadal FL-6, continues to amaze with the list of standard features that goes on and on.We would note the heavy duty X and Z axis motors at 1.7 h.p. actuating 32MM ball screws with the whole system delivering outstanding accuracies of two-tenths positioning, and one-tenth repeatability. A rapid traverse rate of almost 800 i.p.m. is coupled with a high feed rate in excess of 250 i.p.m.Other standard features include a programmable quill in the tailstock, and a chip removal system is standard as well (and even comes with an included chip bucket!). The tool presetter is standard equipment, as is the parts catcher, and a rigid tapping feature. That’s a lot of features Fadal included as standard equipment on the FL-6 Horizontal Turning Center.What more could there be?
