CNC Metal LathesFadal FL-10Horizontal Turning CenterMax. turning dia. and length: 13.7"/23.6"Starting with this horizontal turning center, Fadal’s FL-10, you begin to get into the upper range of the Classic Series lathe capacity. As you look down the specifications you begin to get the idea you are looking at a considerable jump in capacities over the next smaller model lathe in the Classic Series. Now we are equipped with a 10- inch chuck and a 2.95- inch diameter bar feed capacity through the headstock. The actual machining capacity is 13.7 inches maximum diameter by 23.6 inches maximum turning length. This bad boy showed up to the party ready to rock.

• specifications are subject to changeIs This “Middle Heavyweight” a Contender? With a peak horse power of 25 horse at the spindle, you can imagine some serious cuts made accurately. This horizontal turning center moves on a heavy-duty box-way construction, so extremely heavy duty cuts can take place while maintaining a high-level surface finish. Another advantage of HD box-way construction is its longevity, requiring only minimal maintenance over the life of the ways. That’s just for starters. Being at the larger end of the product offerings, you begin to see some increases in operational capabilities. Axis motors grow from around 2.5 h.p. to almost 4 h.p., ball screws remain substantial at one-and-a-quarter and one-and-a-half inch diameters respectively. Is the Accuracy Where It Needs to Be?This big boy still maintains a respectable industry norm of .0002 positioning and .0001 repeatability. Offering a servo-driven tool changer with a 12-position tool holder, the FL-10 can really deal out the tools. Controlled by Fadal’s tried-and-true 64LP controller, multi-step parts become a reality. As with all of the other machine models within the Classic Series, the standard features list is considerable for this lathe. Mentioning just the few more prominent machine features that many other builders charge extra for, we present the following list, which does not include each and every possible feature:We begin with a fully-featured automated chip conveying system with bucket for holding all the chips you'll have flying off of your work piece. We continue with an on-board bar-feeder interface, standard with the 64LP controller. Also, the rigid tapping feature should be noted. As well as a tool pre-setter.Why, they even include a brand-name coolant pump.Who Shows the Commitment to the Customer? The Fadal FL-10 horizontal machining center is a good example of the commitment by both Fadal and Buds Machine Tools in bringing to market the most cost-effective CNC machining solutions currently available.
